Bleu Océane is the French leader in the manufacture of denim canvas clothing in France. The treatment of jeans and denim pieces involves the application of different techniques depending on the desired finish.

DENIM, JEANS, JEANS: BLEU OCÉANE ADVOCATES A MORE ECOLOGICAL MANUFACTURE

Resolutely committed to a CSR approach, our textile workshop is moving towards clean treatments.

As a key player in the world of fashion and luxury, we want to imagine more ecological denim pieces for tomorrow. Indeed, the manufacture of the famous blue fabric required until then a very important consumption of water. Bleu Océane wants to abandon these traditional water-intensive treatments for more ecological washing techniques: ozone washing and laser washing.

OZONE DEWATERING

This washing technique offers many advantages :

Ozone washing makes it possible to obtain a very aesthetic rendering. This natural process avoids the use of chemicals and the discharge of polluted wastewater.
This technique eliminates many cycles of washing and rinsing : water consumption is reduced to a minimum.
Ozone becomes oxygen again once released into the air : it therefore does not generate any pollution

Laser washing

Like ozone washing, laser washing generates no pollution and is more water-efficient. This process consists of saving the desired patterns in the memory of a computer so that the latter reproduces them identically on each piece in denim. The computer can also have pre-recorded patterns, from the most basic to the most original.

Laser washing stands out from other techniques by its high precision. Indeed, this process makes it possible to obtain specific renderings that correspond exactly to your request: scratching effects, speckled effects, scratches, checkered prints, vintage fabric, etc. Jeans in all its forms! With this treatment, clothes can have a very strong customization. We are sure to fill the boundless creativity of our customers

OBTAINING THE GOTS

In addition to its commitment to cleaner textile treatments, Bleu Océane aims to obtain the GOTS label by 2022. GOTS certified garments offer many guarantees :

The materials used come from organic farming.
Producers of cotton or other natural fibres have not used GMOs or toxic or carcinogenic substances.
Water and energy consumption is regulated.
Waste and wastewater management is taken into account in the certification process.
Clothing may not contain any trace of pesticides or heavy metals.

It took thousands of liters of water for the traditional textile industry to make a single pair of jeans, from cotton cultivation to finishes. By now focusing on GOTS certified organic cotton and a more environmentally friendly denim finishing (laser or ozone washing), we offer our customers the opportunity to commit to more responsible fashion.
